The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, announced the creation of the Presidential Commission for the Mining Arc, which will aim to investigate and denounce nationally and internationally the ecocide derived from activities in the Orinoco Mining Arc.
“I have decided to create the Presidential Commission for the Mining Arc, which will be headed by Américo De Grazia”, announced the Head of State through a message on Twitter.
This commission will seek to integrate organizations, indigenous communities and individuals who have investigated and denounced the impact of the Arco Minero, and thus unify all efforts to stop the ecocide.
President Guaidó also instructed deputies Mauligmer Baloa, Ángel Medina and Ramón Flores to join in this task.
“This Tuesday, Presidential Commissioner Américo De Grazia will be presenting the case of the Mining Arc at the World Climate Summit being held in Madrid,” concluded the president.
