Today, Apure is the scene of combats, not for the military defense of the territory, as ordered by the Constitution, but to protect a faction of the FARC-EP. There is no greater betrayal of the nation, the armed force, our traditions and the lives of the soldiers than that. The tragedy is the responsibility of: the usurper, and the commanding generals, who do not command or control the theater of operations.
LOFAN (organic Law of the Armed Force) states in article 7. “The most sacred of military duties is love for the country, respect and constant admiration for its Liberators.” Nicolás Maduro, who today leads our Armed Forces usurping the functions of Commander-in-Chief, does not love this country because they have executed the greatest act of disgrace against it: Sending young officers and soldiers with little training, preparation and operational readiness to Apure to fight with the 10th Front of the FARC-EP and protect Santrich and Márquez.
Let us not forget that it is the same cupola that honored a bust of Manuel Marulanda Vélez on January 23th in Caracas and that calls the murderers of our soldiers comrades.
The humanitarian consequences are irreparable. Six thousand displaced to Colombia, destroyed houses, destroyed businesses and empty schools, extrajudicial executions, new crimes against humanity that are added to those already executed by the uniformed henchmen of the military high command. We receive painful complaints of Venezuelans killed that are covered up as false positives, of the corpses of soldiers who have been abandoned in conflict zones, of dozens of arbitrary arrests of innocent people. Everything is a consequence of the loss of our sovereignty in exchange for political loyalties.
Maduro orders the Military High Command and that is why today everyone is on their knees in front of the FARC-EP dissidents, protecting the drug trafficking routes and sacrificing the armed forces with a toll of deaths and injuries that nobody knows about. There is no official report, while there are families that are already incomplete today and to whom no one gives answers.
Apure is proof of the ethical, professional, moral and operational degradation of the military high command bent to Maduro’s regime and it is the cemetery of our soldiers. Maduro is directly responsible, we will not forget him and we will not rest until freedom is achieved, and the fallen can be honored as they deserve.
On behalf of the interim government, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who, like everyone else, today demand information and who have this right that the dictatorship denies them to know where, when and who murdered them. We raise a prayer for those who, without precise orders and without knowing who the enemy is, honored with their lives the oath to defend this homeland.
