The Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict (OVCS) denounced that the agricultural sector is in a serious crisis that hinders production.
Climate perturbations, particularly unusually heavy rains, have wiped out entire crops and producers have demanded State intervention to improve roads and ways.
“The rains in August destroyed entire crops and the producers demand the intervention of the State to repair land roads as well as improvements in living conditions,” denounced the Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict, through its Twitter account.
Among the complaints that have been made public, the most highlighted ones are the shortage of fuel that makes it difficult to move produce to markets and insecurity on the farms.
“The shortage of agro-supplies, the lack of incentives and smuggling make it difficult to trade national agricultural products,” they denounced.
