The Deputy for Lara State, Luis Florido, stressed that the Democratic Unity is participatory, but not suicidal, so he considers that the way must be built to be able to participate in fair elections in which they would defeat Maduro and his red clique by 90 percent.
The deputy and leader of the ‘Un Nuevo Tiempo’ party stated this during a tour that he made through the sector of the ‘Victoria en Cristo’ community in the north of Lara State, accompanied by members of the ‘UNT Solidario’ party.
He explained that the visit to Venezuela by a Norwegian Commission and the possibility of installing a National Salvation Agreement that President Guaidó has presented is a very important opportunity for adequate mechanisms to be channeled (into a solution), to end a conflict that has many years in Venezuela.
“The hunger policies of Nicolás Maduro have caused that about 6 million Venezuelans have left our country seeking a better future for themselves and their families, there are 9 million undernourished in the country, unemployment, hunger wages in the midst of a pandemic that is claiming more and more lives caused by the precariousness of the healthcare system and the lack of a mass vaccination plan to immunize the most vulnerable population,” said Deputy Florido.
He argued that a policy change is necessary in the country. The current regime ended the hope of all Venezuelans. “This is what Maduro and his 21st century socialism have generated, his communism and his associates.”
He said that the governor of Lara, for example, is a “Yellow Cap” (generic bad quality product),”A ghost”, because nobody knows her, what is known is that she (Carmen Meléndez) was put in charge of the governorship and calls herself “Lara’s protector.”
“Such a good protector! She came here to take over the governorship like a ghost. Now you see why we are doing so bad in the country. Because we have to queue for (propane) gas when there is any, otherwise you have to cook with firewood. The (electric) power fails all the time, there is no gasoline and the little they are selling is of very poor quality. In addition, there is no money to eat because the minimum wage is two dollars, with that nothing is made or bought, that is the situation of all Venezuelans,” said the Deputy.
He indicated that a country is not built with 90 percent of the population dying of hunger and the only way to remove Maduro from power, is to change his hunger policy to one that allows Venezuelans to change this situation and get out of the crisis, to change it through elections, but to achieve it we require minimum electoral conditions.
“We cannot jump into a pool without water. We have to fight, organize ourselves for what is coming, because good things are coming for Venezuela, this community and Lara State, but we must prepare so that when we achieve the necessary electoral conditions, we will defeat these people in elections vote by vote, because this is the only tool that Venezuelans have to make Maduro and his combo pay because they ended the dream of Venezuelans,” said Florido.
He called on the community to accompany the Democratic Unity to work together to build that future to which we all aspire. “There is no future that can be built alone, this is what we have to do in Tamaca, Iribarren, in Lara and throughout Venezuela.”
