Fedecámaras urged political actors to work together despite differences to resolve the crisis in Venezuela, which is becoming unsustainable for Venezuelans on a daily basis.
“Despite the difficulties, as a nation we cannot allow or tolerate the continuation and deepening of the spiral of violence and/or anarchic actions, whose consequences have been and will be more difficult to overcome every day,” it said.
The Federation of Venezuelan Chambers and Associations of Commerce and Production rejected any action that would deepen the political, economic and social instability facing the country and worsen the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Venezuela requires robust and inclusive institutions that guarantee the political stability necessary to promote a new development model that will allow the population to return to the path of social progress that it demands so much. Once again our call is to work together, united, understanding the urgency of responses to a citizenry that demands immediate solutions to the serious problems it faces today,” it said in a statement.
Fedecámaras reiterated that only democratic institutions and social dialogue generate trust and confidence in government systems and public policies, generate progress and well-being, and attract investment and social development for its citizens.
