The women of political parties belonging to the Broad Front and the Nursing union demanded the implementation of a mass vaccination plan for all Venezuelans without distinction.
Ms. Ela Ferris, an activist for ‘Primero Justicia’ and ‘Frente Amplio de Mujeres’, demanded on behalf of all Venezuelan families, that the regime put aside the politicization of vaccines, privileging only those who have the ‘patria card’ (NOT the national ID, a political party control ID) and ‘enchufados’ (well connected), while in hospitals doctors, nurses and healthcare personnel die due to lack of vaccines. Ms. Ferris pointed out that while spokesmen for the regime announce vaccination operations on television stations, and the regime speaks of going back to classes, the teachers have not been vaccinated yet: “We demand that Nicolás Maduro fulfill his duty, and that vaccines are for everyone equally.” She said.
For her part, Ana Rosario Contreras from the Nursing Union pointed out that it is not possible that in addition to the humanitarian emergency and the lack of supplies, the Healthcare union does not have a massive and equitable vaccination plan. She warned about the increase in deaths in healthcare personnel for being in the front row without vaccines or protection.
Ms. Haydée Deutsch, from the Fuerza Liberal party and a member of the Frente Amplio de Mujeres emphasized the alarming increase in Covid cases in Venezuela in the absence of a massive vaccination plan.
Ms. Marlene de Ledezma of Copei party legitimately sympathized with the medical union and called for the immediate vaccination of everyone.
Finally, the President in Charge Juan Guaidó made a call together with the women to the international community about the urgency of demanding a massive National Vaccination Plan that has not yet begun in Venezuela. He pointed out in the demand the right of all the people to get vaccinated. President in Charge Guaidó referred to the urgency to save our entire country with the National Salvation Agreement that will allow us to get out together of the tragedy that is being suffered by the country.
