During a hearing held recently before the IACHR rapporteurs the director of the NGO Fundaredes, Javier Tarazona, were reported the complaints of violence and complicity of the regime with armed groups. All this he revealed exclusively for CCN Radio .
Tarazona explained that Maduro’s dictatorship has not only generated a severe humanitarian crisis in the country, but has also facilitated the operations of armed groups and paramilitary cells that operate in Venezuelan territory.
“We have gone to the IACHR with the purpose of making this emergency and this perverse action by these groups on the fringes of the law visible in our territory,” he said.
He also warned that “in Venezuela there is a process of balkanization with these terrorist organizations, which include 9 fronts of the FARC, 10 fronts of the ELN, Rastrojos, Urabeños, United Self-Defense of Venezuela and Colombia, Colectivo Fronterizo de Paz, Frente Ezequiel Zamora, Bolivarian Liberation Front, Popular Liberation Army, and add to this the national criminal gangs that operate freely throughout the territory.”
He also specified that “while Maduro’s regime in recent weeks has tried to portray itself as a regime that fights against terrorism, the truth is that there is an important association between the dictatorship and a faction of the FARC.”
“Iván Márquez’s speech confirms that the complicity between this faction of the FARC with the FANB (Venezuelan Armed Force). Precisely the FANB does not target this dissident group, nor does this dissident group target the Venezuelan Army,” he said.
Finally, he thanked the support that Venezuela has received from the international community.
“The commitment of the Inter-American System with the reality that exists in Venezuelan territory has been coherent, firm and constant. What is important is to make neighboring countries understand that we are not facing just any process, but rather a perverse scheme as evidenced by these latest attacks in our territory,” he concluded.
