The political party, Voluntad Popular, was one of 27 democratic political organizations that decided unanimously not to participate in the electoral fraud of Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
Lepoldo López, National Coordinator of the political organization said that through this action they send a strong message to Venezuelans and the international community.
“We are democrats and we believe in the Unity against Fraud, that is why together with all the social and political forces of the country we ratified our unitary pact against fraud,” he added.
The political party called on the international community to reject the regime’s new attempt at fraud, which violates democratic principles.
“Continue supporting our struggle, until all Venezuelans can vote again,” he said.
Voluntad Popular added that Venezuelans want to vote, trusting that the vote will be counted in free, fair and verifiable presidential and parliamentary elections.
He called on the Venezuelan people not to falter in the struggle to recover democracy in Venezuela.
“The social and political forces of the country, with a new unitary pact and a new democratic offensive, will achieve the salvation of Venezuela,” he said.
