The director of the Office for Citizen Attention, Luis Somaza, assured that the “false opponents”, better known as scorpions, do not represent an alternative for change in the country. That’s why he reiterated the words of President (E) Juan Guaidó, that the government’s position is set: “there will be no tools to legitimize the dictatorship on December 6th”.
He pointed out that “differences only help the dictatorship” to hold on to power, which is why he insisted on the unity of all sectors of the country. Likewise, he indicated that “the unitary pact is not about whether or not we are going to remove the dictatorship, but it focuses on how to achieve it.”
“This is not the time to divide the country among opposition leaders, today we have a much bigger objective: to end the dictatorship. We can only achieve our freedom and our democracy if we join forces against the dictator and his henchmen who, despite they being strong, we have managed to stop them from plundering our country as they did before,” Somaza said.
He recalled that on July 7th, 2020, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ usurped) arbitrarily suspended the leadership of the Voluntad Popular party, as well as Acción Democrática and Primero Justicia. The TSJ also ruled that a new leadership could use the name and logo of Voluntad Popular in the next parliamentary elections, “this situation should be a reason to fight back among the different sectors of Venezuela, we need to unite to win”.
He added that, currently, the democratic struggle for the return of freedom counts with the support of 60 countries. Likewise, he insisted that Maduro and his scorpions are being persecuted at the international level for their alliances with drug trafficking, terrorism and for their multiple violations of human rights in our country, “this has been thanks to the work of the Government in charge to fence in the criminals that are currently squatting in Miraflores.”
Finally, he stressed the importance of unity in the country during the parliamentary elections of 2015, “there was no possibility of fraud because our people left them without votes,” and he called on civil and military society to “understand that it is not a matter of agreeing with Guaidó but with the declared objective. There are no absolute truths or solutions, we need to understand that from our rivalries only the dictator wins time, lets not be deceived: yes we will achieve it and yes we will recover Venezuela.”
The vice president of the Democratic Action (AD) party, congressman Edgar Zambrano, affirmed this Monday in the framework of the Syndical-Agrarian Meeting, held in Lara, that this cycle of assemblies that his party has carried out in various states of the country, “makes clear the firm and unflinching decision of Acción Democrática, not to participate in the electoral process called for December 6th.
“The line of the National Directorate of the party continues to be exactly the same, we stand firm in the decision taken not to participate in the electoral process,” he said.
He also pointed out that the labor union structure of this political organization, since the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and the new union and agrarian leaders, are two fundamental bases in the organizational architecture of the so-called people’s party.
“The agrarian and union structure, are part of the organizational architecture of the party, are a fundamental part of our activism, an example of compliance and observance of the political guidelines of the National Directorate. They are the conjunction of the man and woman of the country, with the various areas of the labor sector. Today from Lara, these militant representations of AD, showed their unrestricted support to their legitimate authorities headed by comrade Henry Ramos,” he said.
Also present at the meeting was the Political Secretary of AD, Deputy Williams Davila, who recalled that seeing the Union and Agrarian structure of this organization, leads them to have in full force the thought of Romulo Betancourt.
“This party was born as a platform of social alliances, a front of exploited classes and in the times we have been living under this dictatorship, despite the fact that they assaulted the CTV, eliminated collective contracts, put union leaders in prison and some of them were assassinated, the party’s union movement has never given up,” he assured.
We are not just an electoral movement
The leader for the state of Merida and champion of the party, Williams Davila, emphasized that AD is not an electoral structure created for the benefit of a few who wanted to take advantage of the party.
“We are a democratic construct in progress, we are a political project of redemption and social emancipation, we are not anything like a former comrade wanted, believing that he was going to appropriate the leadership of the party and here is the forceful response of the base of Acción Democrática,” he said.
He pointed out that there are rumors that the historical validity of the work they have been doing has its days counted. “And that then the party can count on whoever has the card or the symbols. They are wrong, it is not like that, it is not like I am going to steal from you your AD soul, it is not like we are going to steal from our leaders their fighting spirit after they have fought against dictatorships, that is why we are here showing our face,” he affirmed.
He added “there are those who say that they are saving the party, that they are going to save the white card by participating in the electoral farce. Traitors, a thousand times traitors,” sentenced the parliamentarian.
The activity counted with the presence of the militancy and party leadership of the diverse municipalities and parishes of the State, as well as the Labor Union Secretary Porfirio Carpio and Agrarian Union secretary Néstor Galindez, from the Lara Section.
