“Plan País is of vital importance because it is where the concerns of the Legitimate Government lie in what will be the future of the country once political change is achieved”. This is how Congressman Freddy Valera, President of the Permanent Commission on Domestic Policy, began the detailed management report presented on Friday by the Special Commission on the Country Plan, fulfilling President Juan Guaidó’s commitment to transparently advance the work of the National Assembly and the Interim Government. The Permanent Commission on Energy and Petroleum was represented by Deputy Elías Matta, who is also the Political Coordinator of that area in Plan País.
Later, Juan Andrés Mejía, who presided over Plan País in 2019, took the floor to highlight the efforts of the commission’s leadership, against which the regime’s brutal persecution has been unleashed, and he thanked the thousands of volunteers who helped build the proposals. “Today Venezuela has a plan to rescue the country and move forward, to change the image of Venezuela inside and outside the country in a very short time”.
The person in charge of presenting the management report was congressman José Guerra, President of Plan País at present, who gave way to a video summary of what Plan País Venezuela has done in this year and a half of work:
In eighteen sessions: the formation of 11 commissions per area; the selection of technical and political coordinators who will work in coordination; diagnoses of the problems and involve the best experts in the construction of the plan. That was the work done during this year and a half that allowed the publication of the Political Agreement to rescue Venezuela from the social crisis and economic collapse (https://bit.ly/3hja7MV) and 26 documents with the proposals of each area.
The parliamentarian also informed that Plan País was not a plan conceived behind closed doors but rather that it has traveled throughout Venezuela to listen to proposals, debate the plan and disseminate the final documents. “385 activities in which almost 35,000 Venezuelans participated, training workshops and virtual activities when the quarantine began made it possible to demonstrate to the country that the Legitimate Government not only has a proposal but that it will succeed in recovering the country from the debacle to which the regime has led us”.
Plan País also toured 11 countries thanks to the International Commission “which not only brought a message of encouragement to the diaspora but also presented to (foreign) governments, political and business sectors the route mapped out once a political change is achieved to open up the field of action for future investments that are indispensable for rebuilding the country once change is achieved.”
Guerra explained that the main philosophy of Plan País is that the wealth of a nation is not created by the government but by the people who work there, and its basis is in 4 points. “A route was drawn to stop hyperinflation and recover the economy, an oil plan that will not only allow the industry to recover but also show the world that Venezuela will be able to pay back the loans we will need to rebuild the country, a social plan that will make it possible to attend to more than 80% of the population that is in critical poverty and cannot get out of it just through changes in the market, but that they also will need direct subsidies, food plans, scholarships and vaccinations so that children can return to the classroom, economic and technical assistance for national production and above all the formation of a State that is not an enemy but the great driving force behind recovery.”
Congressman José Guerra explained that Plan País will publish in this new phase 12 documents with the plans drawn up in other areas and will continue with formation and diffusion activities of the plan at the parish level “to take the message that it is possible to attend to the needs of Venezuelans with a new political route and to continue sowing the seed of how indispensable it is to achieve change.”
