At a press conference held Wednesday from the headquarters of the National Executive Committee of Acción Democrática in La Florida, Henry Ramos Allup said the Supreme Court is trying to simulate that his party, in addition to Primero Justicia, Un Nuevo Tiempo and Voluntad Popular, will participate in an electoral farce.
Accompanied by Juan Guaidó, Alfonso Marquina, and Nora Bracho, Acción Democrática’s Secretary General Henry Ramos Allup referred to the recent Supreme Court rulings in which they have decided to intervene the main opposition parties, assuring that they are trying to “simulate” that these parties will attend the next electoral event called by the ersatz CNE.
“This CNE is worse than the previous one, because they put Indira Alfonso, who comes from being president of the Electoral Chamber, who stole the elections from us in Amazonas, as president. The other one is Gladys Gutiérrez, who while I was president of the Assembly, imposed on us I don’t know how many rulings. Then it occurred to them to shut up the parties and put the cards (and symbols) in the hands of these ruffians to simulate that Acción Democrática and Primero Justicia are going to participate. Let them come here to see if they really have them on, we are waiting for them here,” he said.
He recalled that no opposition party will participate in the “electoral sham” called by the CNE, since it is a “vaudeville” that will have no luck, criticizing any future action of the Supreme Court against Un Nuevo Tiempo.
“The card that will appear does not belong to Acción Democrática. The Primero Justicia card that will also appear on the ballot will be in the hands of scorpions. In the case of Voluntad Popular they decided to name it a terrorist organization, there was even a risk that they would put out a red alert on Interpol so that some members of that party would be arrested abroad, but Interpol is no longer paying attention to what the regime says. In the name of AD, for us, Un Nuevo Tiempo is a party with moral integrity and if they also steal their card and put it in the hands of Chaim Bucaram, Freddy Paz or anyone else, just like us, they are not going to participate in an electoral farce,” he said.
Finally, he emphasized that the current legislature will remain in effect until there is a free electoral process with the conditions set forth in the Constitution.
“That electoral farce is not going to be successful and will not be recognized by any country. Until a new National Assembly is legally elected, we will continue to carry out our functions in spite of the persecution to which we may be subjected. It cannot be possible that if you do not do what the regime wants, it takes away your card. Well, boy, take the card,” he said.
