Inhabitants of different sectors of Valle de la Pascua, in Guárico State, denounced the great collapse of the city’s garbage dump.
Citizens say the situation has generated an outbreak of disease in children and the elderly.
“They throw garbage in the entrance, that is affecting us because at night they burn it. That generates flies, rats, vultures, we practically have the garbage in our house,” said one resident.
On the other hand, the scarcity of food, public services, and the poor condition of the roads and sewers has increased the desperation of the ‘Guariqueños’, who say they are abandoned and unassisted by state institutions.
The crisis in the state has worsened over the months, where in addition the COVID-19 pandemic presents a threat to the inhabitants of the sectors that make up the region and who do not have the necessary resources to take protection measures.
Nicolás Maduro’s regime has led Venezuela to a great humanitarian crisis and violates the rights of citizens who demand improvements in their quality of life.
