Acción Democrática began a new crusade on Monday to demand an immediate national vaccination plan for all Venezuelans.
“Today we light a flame that starts in Lara state to demand that the pandemic be depoliticized,” said Carlos Prosperi, Secretary of the National Organization of the party, during a tour through downtown Barquisimeto.
In the company of Edgar Zambrano, First Vice president of AD; Sobella Mejías, Regional Secretary General of the CES Lara, and Acción Democrática’s activists, Prosperi urged Nicolás Maduro to put aside any political differences “in order to safeguard the lives of Venezuelans.”
In his opinion, coinciding with all the political and social sectors of the country, an immediate national vaccination plan should be implemented “in which all Venezuelans are included, without distinction.”
“Enough of these messages implying that a vaccination plan is going to begin where a national (political control) card will be used, the only card for Venezuelans is the identity card,” stressed the social leader.
In this sense, he requested the support of the international community and all Venezuelans to achieve the ‘depoliticization’ of healthcare. “Today, from Acción Democrática, we extend our hand to whoever we have to reach out to find solutions to this terrible pandemic,” he emphasized.
