Voluntad Popular party rejected the attempted kidnapping by the illegitimate Supreme Court of Justice, carried out by a group of people financed by Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
“While the puppet bought by Maduro was speaking in front of the media, the true activists of Voluntad Popular made him flee through the back door of the Supreme Court as what he is: a coward,” the political party said.
From Voluntad Popular we strongly reject the attempt to kidnap our organization by a tiny group of corrupt deputies who, acting as puppets of Nicolas Maduro, betrayed their country and their party in exchange for money stained with the blood of the Venezuelan people, who are suffering the worst humanitarian emergency in their history.
Those who today went before Maduro’s illegitimate TSJ to try this new institutional assault are PUPPETS bought by the dictatorship who decided to betray Venezuela for some bills and with it, oxygenate the criminal regime.
While the puppet bought by Maduro was speaking in front of the media, the true activists of Voluntad Popular made him flee through the back door of the Supreme Court as what he is: a coward, because the true activists of our political party work on conviction, not for money. The true activists are brave and always go forward defending our democratic ideals.
This attempt at institutional assault is aimed at continuing to destroy democracy in our country. It is the same since they tried to assault the parliament, the same one they want to do with Primero Justicia, and which they already accomplished with Copei, Podemos and the PPT. The regime intends to steal democratic institutions to put them at the service of the dictatorship.
In Voluntad Popular we are clear about the move that the usurper regime intends to carry out by appropriating the political organizations that oppose it and then calling for servile parties to participate in any type of election in order to legitimize themselves.
The regime intends to continue punishing the tireless struggle led by the Voluntad Popular since 2014 when our leader Leopoldo López warned about the crisis that is being experienced today in Venezuela and since the president in charge, Juan Guaidó, assumed the commitment to lead us to a process of fair and free presidential elections.
Despite the hundreds of people killed, arrested and exiled, our party remains firm in all the streets of our country and follows its democratic ideals in the struggle to conquer #LaMejorVzla of peace, welfare and progress.
We alert Venezuela and the world about the recent actions perpetrated by Maduro’s oppressive regime, which has harassed, persecuted and even arrested legitimate deputies and raided the offices of the president in charge, Juan Guaidó, while he is on his successful international tour.
We reaffirm our commitment against the dictatorship, with the freedom of Venezuela and the fight in favor of the Venezuelans, to continue advancing in the conquest of democracy in our country.
