Workers of the Venezuelan Workers’ Confederation (CTV) and the National Agro-food Platform (PAN) urged all Venezuelans to participate in the Popular Consultation between December 5th and 12th.
José Elías Torres, general secretary of the CTV, affirmed that: “the future of our families rests in our hands. As a people we have the strength to decide the direction of the nation. Let us assert this force in the Popular Consultation.”
Torres indicated that with massive participation, Venezuelans would be telling the world that they reject the policies that Nicolás Maduro’s regime has implemented for workers, civil society and the national productive apparatus.
“That’s why workers make the call to participate massively in the Popular Consultation and we are reactivating all our sections so that they are put at the order that this democratic process that we can resort to in Venezuela and carry it out successfully,” he reiterated .
WORKERS DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE ELECTORAL FRAUD
For his part, the president of the Association of Pensioners and Retirees, Omar Velázquez, announced that the workers will not support or recognize the electoral fraud organized by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
“We have decided not to participate (in the election) next December 6th. The reasons are known: it is not a clean and transparent electoral process,” he said.
Furthermore, he stressed that the only legitimate process is the Popular Consultation convened by the National Assembly and the president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó.
“We are in the streets, working for the Popular Consultation. 90% of the association of pensioners and retirees agrees to support and back participation in the Popular Consultation,” he added.
